Part A: Tamil Eligibility Test (SSLC Standard)

Total Marks Calculation

For Most Posts: Part B + Part C of Paper I + Paper II = 150 + 150 + 300 = 600 marks
Translator Post: Part B + Part C + Paper II = 150 + 100 = 250 marks
Asst. Section Officer (Translation): Part B + Part C + Paper II = 150 + 300 = 450 marks

Ranking Procedure

  1. Merit list prepared based on total marks secured in written examination
  2. For posts other than translation: Marks from Part B and Part C of Paper I + Paper II
  3. For translation posts: Marks from Part B and Part C of Paper I + Paper II
  4. In case of tie:
    • Candidate with higher qualification ranked higher
    • If qualification same, older candidate ranked higher
    • If age same, candidate who applied earlier ranked higher

Special Provisions

  • Differently abled candidates: Can avail exemption from writing Part A (Tamil Eligibility Test)
  • Visual impairment: Can use scribe with prior permission
  • Exam center: Candidates can choose two district centers as preference
